The F-1300 Pulsation Dampener Bladder is a critical component used in mud pump pulsation dampeners to stabilize pressure fluctuations in drilling fluid systems. Installed inside the pulsation dampener vessel, the bladder acts as a flexible accumulator that absorbs pressure peaks generated by the reciprocating motion of the mud pump.
Manufactured through high-temperature compression molding and vulcanization, the bladder is produced from premium rubber compounds reinforced with an internal metal core to ensure structural stability and long service life.
By balancing pressure variations within the discharge line, the pulsation dampener bladder effectively reduces vibration, protects pipeline components, and improves overall drilling pump performance. It is widely used in oilfield drilling equipment, mud pumps, compressors, and vibration-control systems.
Working Principle
Before operation, compressed air or nitrogen is injected into the bladder through the charging valve to establish a pre-charge pressure of approximately 4.5–5.0 MPa.
When the mud pump begins operating, the discharge pressure exceeds the preset gas pressure inside the bladder, initiating the dampening process:
When the instantaneous pump flow rises above the average flow, pipeline resistance increases and pressure spikes occur.
The gas inside the bladder compresses, allowing a portion of the drilling fluid to temporarily enter the dampener vessel.
This process reduces excessive pressure peaks in the discharge pipeline.
When pressure decreases, the compressed gas expands and pushes the stored fluid back into the system.
Through this continuous compression and expansion cycle, the pulsation dampener maintains stable flow and pressure conditions, significantly reducing pump pulsation and improving drilling efficiency.
Structural Design
-
The F-1300 dampener bladder features a simple yet robust structure designed for reliable operation under demanding drilling conditions.
-
Main components include:
1 - Steel Core
2 - Rubber Body -
The rubber body provides elasticity and sealing performance, while the internal steel core enhances mechanical strength and maintains structural stability during high-pressure operation.

Material Properties
-
The rubber materials used in pulsation dampener bladders are tested according to HG/T 2331 standards. The compounds are designed to resist oil exposure, high temperatures, aging, and corrosion from gases such as H₂S commonly present in drilling environments.
